A Touch of Peace

This has to be one of the most difficult questions that I had to ask myself, and I can honestly answer and say I am a daughter of a great King and his name is Jesus Christ.  I am a wife, mother, teacher, daughter, sister and friend.  As a mother living with bipolar disorder and a child diagnosed with Aspergers' Syndrome I have battled against many things.

I recall the day I cried uncontrollably and wanted everything to end. Holding a child in my arms who looked right through me with no recollection that I was his mom drew me closer each day to the edge, but just when I thought all was over, Jesus came into my life. During those dark years when I did not see a way, a close friend of mine invited me to church. Although I knew there was a God I did not have a personal relationship with him. I have to admit that at first I was just going, because I needed something to do other than stay at home and go crazy. I went and had such a wonderful time. Let me just say that they did an altar call to accept Jesus and I did not go until several months later. I guess you can say I was a skeptic. You see I had read so many books about mental disabilities and how there was no cure. I was determined not to chase after false hope. I tried every scientific remedy I could find. Some of the methods I tried worked, but most of them failed. I had no choice, but to give this Jesus a try. I did accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior and I can tell you that all my past hurts are just that in the past. Jesus made me new. I can't tell you that I don't have bipolar I still do. I can't tell you that my son has been miraculously healed from Aspergers' Syndrome he has not, but what I can say is that I am a woman with Vision, Passion, Purpose and Destiny.
